Look what I´ve found! It seems like Quentin Tarantino is about to release a new movie. I came across this wikipedia-entry which states that his new movie "Inglorious Bastards" will be released soon. It´s supposed to be a war movie, written and directed by Quentin Tarantino. I´m so excited about that! I hope he´ll soon finish his script. I can´t wait to see his next movie.

Movies of my Life #2 - The Graduate

I bet you all saw this movie. Strangely enough it was about 3 weeks ago when I saw it for the first time. But it´s a very cool one and I love it. And the soundtrack... excellent. Simon & Garfunkel created the perfect soundtrack for this movie. I heard that they performed all the songs in this movie. I also like the love story between Dustin Hoffman and Mrs. Robinson´s daughter. How do you like this movie?

Movies of my Life #1 - The Goonies

A movie which is definitely worth calling itself a movie of my life is "The Goonies". It was produced in 1985. The story was written by Steven Spielberg. I guess that makes it a great one even without watching it. The film is about a band of kids hoping to save their homes in the Goon Docks from demolition. They all go on an adventure to find the buried treasure of a legendary 17th-century pirate named One-Eyed Willie. Take a look at this misterious tagline: "They call themselves "The Goonies". The secret caves. The old lighthouse. The lost map. The treacherous traps. The hidden treasure. And Sloth...". If you haven´t seen it yet, you definitely missed something.

Gate Multiplex Cinema, Cork, Ireland

This is our cinema here in Cork. If you compare it with German cinemas for example, they seem to be a bit more developed. They have free choice of seats, an automatic ticket dispenser. Maybe this is why you don´t have to queue in Irish cinemas. You have to consider that they only have to cash desks. So they solved the queuing problem quite well. The theater is also very clean and the prices are ok. Their prices range from €3 (special sunday showings) to €8 (weekend evening showings).

redscreamfilms.com - Prison of the Psychotic Damned

Synopsis: In this movie, five ghost hunters spend the night in a place called "Buffalo Central Terminal". It is a long abandoned train terminal which is located deep in the heart of Buffalo´s notorious east-side ghetto. And this terminal is said to be haunted by the people who have died within the Buffalo Central Terminal. At first it was supposed to be a joke, but then this joke turns into a terrifying nightmare. The psychotic dead are beginning to assault the five ghost hunters.

I think the movie was filmed in an excellently chosen location. From this point of view, you could think that it definitely has to be a great movie. But that is the point. It "could" have been a very eerie and scary movie. But instead we have a complete chaos. It is obvious that low budget movies don´t have the best actors of the world in it, that´s not a problem at all, but the story telling and the plot are lamentable. Of course there are a few moments that really scare you, but nothing actually ties together. The story jumps around from here to there and the film actually makes you feel like you´ve missed something. I´m a real big fan of low budget horror movies. I´ve seen many low budget horror movies and I know that it´s hard to put a coherent story together. In this case I unfortunately have to say that the directors have failed. However, the effects in this movie are quite ok and the characters (which are not too good developed throughout the whole movie) are ok as well, but it is all let down by a confusing story and a poor direction.
